Coaching
can Change Individuals
NOW AN INNOVATIVE WEB-BASED PROGRAM
ALLOWS IT TO PERMEATE THROUGHOUT AN ORGANIZATION TO ACHIEVE LARGE-SCALE
RESULTS
SAN DIEGO
-- When representatives from more than 400 top companies gather in Arlington,
Va. later this month, they will find more than the usual offering of speakers
and workshops.
Ken Blanchard—the world renowned coauthor of The One Minute Manager®—
and his son Scott, founder and CEO of Coaching.comTM?will introduce an
innovative Web-based platform for delivering coaching that is the first
of its kind in the world.
Coaching.com is an off-shoot company of The Ken Blanchard Companies that
for more than 20 years has been recognized as a leader in the business
of developing human capital. With strong roots in organizational development
and innovative methodologies in learning and coaching services, Coaching.com
proliferates the practice of coaching, but takes it to another dimension.
The Coaching.com web-based platform offers an element that most coaching
programs cannot—scalability. Coaching.com takes the one-on-one coaching
technique that traditionally has been used at the executive level, and
spreads it throughout all levels of an organization. “Coaching has
proven to be powerful at the individual level, but most coaching programs
do not address overall organizational issues,” says the younger
Blanchard. “We create large-scale impacts by linking individual
progress to organizational strategies and goals,” he says.
Used in conjunction with focused telephone conversations, the proprietary
Web-based platform allows coaches and clients to communicate effectively
in one-on-one sessions and to integrate appropriate lessons from development
programs that enhance leadership, teams, and service.
Personal comments and data that are gathered during these coaching conversations
are not disclosed to others. However, the database-driven application
aggregates trends, which allows the information to be shared with decision-makers
without sacrificing individual confidentiality. "Now organizations
get more than an invoice at the end of a coaching engagement,” says
Blanchard. “They
get meaningful information that can help set objectives, drive decisions,
and assess whether they are getting desired outcomes,” he says.
"We believe that Coaching.com can help transform companies—one
life at a time,” says Blanchard. “Business is built on relationships,
and by developing the personal character of one individual, we can enhance
a multitude of relationships. The results are far-reaching—and tangible.”
Blanchard explains that the new company provides organizational assessments
before coaching initiatives begin, and a detailed analysis after they
conclude. “That way our clients can see for themselves how coaching
benefits the community they call a company,” says Blanchard.
Coaching.com will unveil its new Web-based platform at the fourth annual
Coaching and Mentoring Conference that begins on April 30 at the Crystal
Gateway Marriott in Arlington.
Ken Blanchard is a conference keynote speaker and will talk about the
positive and empowering transformations of his own experience using a
coach and how it has profoundly impacted his life.
Scott Blanchard will also speak, as will Madeleine Homan, the company’s
Chief Coaching Officer who is also a founding member of the Board of the
International Coach Federation.
